Artist Retreat Rejection

Thank you so much for applying for the Retreat. At this time your application has been thoroughly reviewed for this opportunity. As you know, there were only 48 spots available at these weekend workshops and we had an overwhelming response to this fantastic opportunity. Unfortunately, we do not have space to accommodate all applicants, therefore your application was not recommended for inclusion in the workshop this year.

This is the first time the Division has offered an opportunity like this for Florida's individual artists. These types of opportunities are something that we would like to continue, and we do encourage you to reapply should the opportunity come up again. Thank you for sharing your work with us and for showing interest in this opportunity. The overwhelming number of applications that we received this year provides a great justification for continuing these types of services for artists.

It was a bit of a long shot, not only did you apply for the program, but you had to pick a weekend and location of preference. I figure that selecting the location that most people would (in this instance near Orlando) that your odds would be even more reduced. No worries, there will be plenty more letters to come. It's nearly time to check the ol' po box again. ;)
