A Quickie Rejection
"Thank you for submitting images for review. The work is nice, but does not fit with the direction of the gallery.

The nice thing about the occasional email inquiry is that it is quick and costs no money. It can also result in an equally fast and virtually free rejection letter.

Hi Suzanne, I found your website through an artist from Illustration Friday. I just want to give you some words of encouragement. I know how it feels to receive rejection letters:-).
Bon courage!
Hi Miragee :) I'm glad to hear from you! I really wanted to create this blog so I could share with everyone the sorts of letters I get. Often, when an artist goes to college here, they learn their craft, but, they aren't taught how to promote themselves or handle rejection.
So, this site is there for artists to see my process and experiences and to share their own. So far I'm not getting a lot of feedback, but I know there are people out there quietly peeking in every now and again.
On a side note, I'm not sure if you'd be interested or not, but I have a website that's mostly populated by illustrators right now called critiquegroup.com. You can upload your work and receive critique and feedback from other artists (it's also free). Check it out at: http://www.critiquegroup.com
You never know, maybe you'll make a few new illustrator friends along the way too, and that can never hurt! :)
